About Music Videos & Events
When shooting a music video, the makeup needs to handle both studio strobes and outdoor natural light without looking heavy or caked on. For the 'Saajan' song launch, I focused on a fresh, dewy base for Kashika Kapoor that stayed radiant throughout the interviews, ensuring zero shine issues under the flashbulbs.
Professional music video makeup requires a completely different technical approach than bridal or personal party glam.
Lighting & Camera Sensitivity
I prioritize HD-grade skin prep that creates a glass-skin finish. For shoots, this means using layering techniques that prevent creasing under harsh studio lights while keeping the skin hydrated for long 8-10 hour shifts. My goal is to ensure the makeup looks as good on the monitor as it does in person.
Event vs. Video
At public events, like song launches, the goal is 'real-life glam.' It needs to be polished enough for high-definition close-ups during interviews but subtle enough that it does not look like stage makeup.
My Workflow
- Continuity: During video production, I maintain a consistent look across different camera angles and scenes, ensuring the eyeliner or contour does not shift between takes.
- Grooming: I provide corrective grooming for male actors and band members, ensuring everyone is camera-ready with anti-shine matte finishing.
- Travel & On-Set: My kit is always mobile. Whether we are filming in a studio in Mumbai or at a destination event, I travel with the team to handle instant touch-ups, flyaways, and quick look-changes between setups.
