About Our Eco-Friendly Promise
You might wonder how we keep things safe without plastic wrap. We use a combination of sturdy, reused cardboard boxes, water-activated paper tape, and honeycomb paper cushioning that locks items in place during transit. It's tough enough for cross-country shipping, and honestly, we think the 'unwrap' experience feels much better than plastic.
When we started Vaanya Soap Co., the goal was to bring traditional Ayurveda into modern daily rituals. That mission felt incomplete if our shipping practices relied on single-use plastic. We decided that every soap, scrub, or bath salt we send out should leave as little trace on the planet as possible.
Our Plastic-Free Process
We don't use a drop of plastic. Instead, we have developed a packing system that works:
- Honeycomb cushioning: This paper-based material stretches to create a protective buffer, replacing bubble wrap entirely. It holds items like our glass body polish jars firmly, even on long journeys from Mumbai to cities like Bangalore or Jaipur.
- Water-activated tape: Standard plastic tapes are non-recyclable. Our water-activated paper tape forms a permanent bond with the cardboard, making the box stronger and 100% recyclable.
- Reused resources: We actively repurpose shipping boxes whenever we can. It might look a little 'imperfect' compared to a pristine new box, but it saves resources and keeps our carbon footprint lower.
Why It Matters
It takes us a bit longer to pack each box by hand this way. The crinkle of paper replaces the squeak of plastic tape, and our customers often tell us they prefer the unboxing experience. It feels deliberate, grounded, and honest.
