About Storybook Sessions: Themed & Fantasy Portraits
These sessions are a collaborative art project. Because we use intricate props—like vintage wands or enchanted forest backdrops—and heavy digital compositing to create that cinematic look, I work closely with you beforehand to storyboard the theme. You will need to be hands-on during the shoot to help guide your little one’s expressions, but I handle all the magic in post-production to ensure the final images are true masterpieces.
Behind the Magic
Fantasy sessions are not about simple portraits; they are about construction. We aren't just taking photos; we are designing a world. From the 'Little Krishna' Janmashtami setups to 'Harry Potter' newborn themes or 'Snow White' enchanted forests, each session requires specific planning.
The Process
- Storyboarding: We discuss the character or theme before you arrive at the studio in Kurla.
- The Set: I prepare the custom backdrops, costumes, and niche props like lanterns or wands.
- The Shoot: These sessions are more complex than a standard sitting. I often use golden hour lighting outdoors or controlled studio setups with digital backdrops to achieve the right mood.
- The Edit: This is where the 'painterly' finish comes in. I use advanced composite editing to blend the subject with the fantasy elements, ensuring the final deliverable is a piece of art suitable for a large canvas print on your wall.
Practical Details
These are premium sessions meant for parents who want a specific, curated look. Because they are time-intensive, they require a 2-hour shoot window and your active assistance to direct the child's movement, especially when we are using props like live bunnies or vintage accessories.
