You want to be a hairstylist, not just someone holding scissors. Here, we teach the actual science of hair—anatomy, porosity, and pH—so you can handle any texture with total confidence.

A perfect haircut starts with understanding the client. I teach my students how to analyze face shapes, discuss lifestyle needs, and conduct a thorough hair consultation to deliver a style that the client will love and be able to manage.

Understanding hair science is crucial. Here, I am demonstrating a hair porosity test to my students. This simple test helps determine if hair has low, medium, or high porosity, which dictates the right products and chemical treatments to use.

What is pH and why does it matter for hair? In this theory class, I break down the science of the pH scale and explain how understanding hydrogen levels in hair is essential for maintaining its health, strength, and shine.

Here I explain the science behind why you should never comb wet hair. I demonstrate how wet hair has only one bond intact, making it much weaker and more prone to breakage compared to dry hair, which has all three bonds.

A look inside our hair anatomy class. My students learn about the structure of hair and the scalp, which is fundamental knowledge for any professional hairstylist. We cover theory in-depth before moving to practical work.

Product knowledge is the foundation of great haircare. Before touching scissors, our students learn about different product lines, their ingredients, and how to recommend the right regimen for scalp care, nourishment, and styling.

In this product knowledge session, I explain how specific products like L'Oréal's Inforcer work. Understanding how a product strengthens brittle hair helps my students make expert recommendations to their future clients.

Practice makes perfect. Our students spend hours honing their haircutting skills on mannequins, focusing on precision, sectioning, and technique before they ever work on a live model. This builds a strong technical foundation.

A student practices a bob haircut on a mannequin head. This is a crucial step in our training, allowing students to master sectioning and cutting lines in a controlled environment under the watchful eye of our trainers.

Here I am demonstrating a classic one-length haircut. We start with the basics to ensure every student masters fundamental techniques like maintaining consistent tension and a clean cutting line, which are essential for any haircut.

About Hairdressing Training: The Core Craft

We don't just teach you how to cut; we teach you how hair behaves. Before you ever pick up a pair of scissors, you will learn to test hair porosity, understand the pH scale, and identify bond structures. My team makes sure you spend as much time on live models as you do on mannequins, so you walk out with the muscle memory and the theory to back it up.
