15 Years of Growing a Community of Young Readers
From a small apartment with 400 books to a buzzing community space in Sector 50, my 15-year journey has been all about the love for stories. Come see how we nurture young minds, one book at a time.
Fifteen years! I am filled with so much gratitude looking back at this journey. This would not have been possible without our amazing readers and their parents. Each year adds more joy, learning, and new connections. The journey continues!
Celebrating 13 years felt so nostalgic and emotional. This video is a small glimpse into the incredible journey of connecting with beautiful children, meeting amazing authors, and building a community. It truly shows how readers inspire new readers.
About Our Journey: 15 Years of Nurturing Readers
It started in my own living room with just 400 books and a handful of toys. Today, that small spark has grown into a community of over 25,000 books and thousands of children who visit us in Sector 50, Gurgaon. Every shelf here tells a story, not just of the authors, but of the children who first picked them up, learned to read, and eventually grew into confident young adults.
Looking back at the last 15 years, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude. What started as a personal passion project to help kids fall in love with reading has become a movement. As we say, 'Log saath aate gaye aur karwaan banta gaya' (People kept joining, and the caravan kept growing).
My approach has always been simple: keep learning fun, not like homework. We don't just stack books; we create environments. Whether it is our 'Bookyardigans' club, interactive storytelling sessions, or our brain gym modules, every activity is designed to spark curiosity. I have focused on maintaining small, intimate batches for our workshops because I believe every child learns at a different pace, and they deserve personal attention.
What you see in these photos is the result of years of community building. We have evolved from a simple book rental library into a space for creative writing, debate clubs, and even meditative art like mosaic and mandala making. We take pride in our flexibility—offering online sessions for those who cannot visit us in Gurgaon and hosting seasonal camps that are always 'full dhamaal' (super fun). My goal remains the same today as it was in 2010: to nurture readers who are not just academically strong, but emotionally resilient and creative.
