Professional Saree Draping and Hairstyling in Mumbai
I am Viji. From intricate traditional braids to modern party curls, here is a glimpse of how I help you get ready and look your best for your big day.
This is a perfect example of a modern South Indian bridal hairstyle. The braid is intricately woven and adorned with traditional hair jewels, paired with fresh flowers for a look that is both classic and fresh for any wedding ceremony.
Here you can see the process and final result of a traditional South Indian bridal braid, or Poola Jada. I patiently arrange the flowers and temple jewellery to create this iconic look, ensuring every detail is perfect for the kalayana ponnu.
For this client's engagement, we chose a beautiful half-up hairstyle with soft, flowing curls. A delicate gajra was added to the crown, tying the whole look together with her stunning pink silk saree.
This soft, messy updo is a wonderful choice for a family wedding or reception. The loose curls frame the face beautifully, creating an elegant and seemingly effortless style that complements both modern and traditional outfits.
This is my signature braided crown, a style I absolutely love for its neatness and elegance. The braid acts like a natural headband, while the rest of the hair is styled into soft barrel curls, making it a versatile choice for parties and receptions.
I love creating fusion looks that honor different traditions. Here, I styled an Iyer bride in a Kannadiga-inspired drape and hairstyle for her wedding, blending her heritage with her groom's for a truly personal and meaningful look.
About Featured
I don't just drape the saree and leave. Whether it is a heavy Kanjivaram or delicate silk, I focus on the pleating and pinning so you can move freely without worrying about the fabric shifting. For hairstyles, I specialize in balancing heavy temple jewelry with your hair, ensuring everything stays secure from the first ceremony to the last photo of the night.
When you call me for a bridal look, we are not just talking about a saree. We are talking about comfort. My process starts with understanding the fabric weight, especially for Kanjivaram or heavy bridal silks. I ensure the pleats are ironed and sharp, and the pallu length is set to keep your movement effortless.
My work with South Indian brides is close to my heart. I know how essential the Poola Jada is, and more importantly, I know how heavy that temple jewelry can be. I use strong donut bases and professional-grade pins to make sure your braid does not sag under the weight of the Rakodi or Jada Billa.
For parties and receptions, I love creating modern fusion looks. If you want bouncy barrel curls, a messy updo, or a braided crown that keeps your hair off your face, I can do that too. I bring all the necessary heat-styling tools, crimpers for volume, and strong-hold sprays to tackle Mumbai's humidity.
A quick note for when we work together: I handle the labor, styling, and pinning. Please keep your fresh flowers, jewelry, and any hair extensions ready before I arrive. My goal is to make the getting-ready process calm and organized so you can enjoy your event without the stress of managing your look.
