This is the first set of visuals a user sees. It’s curated to showcase the breadth of my skill, from bold sculptural forms to the dynamic process of creation, telling a story of artistry, philosophy, and technique.
The Raku Experience: Fire & Chance
I embrace the unpredictable with Raku, an ancient Japanese technique where pieces are pulled from the kiln while red-hot. The fire, smoke, and rapid cooling create unique crackled glazes and metallic sheens, ensuring no two pieces are ever the same. This cluster includes the special horsehair Raku technique, where hair sizzles onto the hot surface to create wild, linear patterns.
Sculptural & Figurative Works
Here, clay becomes a medium for storytelling and exploring form. This collection features my hand-built sculptures, from jars with human heads to abstract shapes and animal figures. Each piece is a result of experimentation, including the 'Erotic Cups' series inspired by the feminine form.
Moon Jars: A Dance of Light and Clay
Inspired by the simple, powerful shapes of Korean tradition, my Moon Jars are all about form and presence. I build these large, spherical vessels slowly, letting them find their own character. Their beauty comes from their strong silhouette and the way light and shadow play across their textured surfaces.
Functional Art: Cups, Bowls & Vases
I believe everyday objects should bring joy. This collection includes wheel-thrown and hand-built pieces designed for daily use, from Japanese-style teabowls to unique vases. While functional, each piece carries its own artistic character, texture, and form, making your daily rituals a little more special.
Behind the Scenes: The Potter's Life
My studio is my playground, a place of process and discovery. This is a look at the journey of each piece, from a lump of clay to a finished work of art. It includes the tools I use, the techniques I explore like carving and glazing, and the quiet moments of focus at the potter's wheel.
Workshops & Community
Sharing the magic of clay is a huge passion of mine. I host workshops for all levels, from beginners to fellow artists, focusing on techniques like Raku firing and wheel throwing. It is a joy to see students connect with the material and create something uniquely their own.
Exhibitions & Recognition
I am grateful to have my work featured in exhibitions where I can share my artistic vision with a wider audience. It is an honor to be part of the larger conversation in the contemporary art world.
