Stories from the Road

Not just photos, but fragments of journeys. From the stillness of a Varanasi ghat to the quiet strength of Himachali mountains, these images are about the people and stories I have crossed paths with along the way.

A sadhu rests on the steps of the ghats in Varanasi, his vibrant orange robes contrasting with the weathered stairs. This image captures a moment of peaceful solitude, a common sight in a city that is constantly moving yet full of stillness.

On a boat in the Ganges, I captured this moment of three men, their backs to the camera, with one looking directly at me. The tilak on his forehead and the yellow shawls tell a story of faith and tradition against the calm waters of Varanasi.

An elderly woman sits peacefully on the steps of her porch in a Himachali village. The simple, rustic architecture and the clear blue sky in the background frame a portrait of contentment and a life connected to the mountains.

I met this little girl on a roadside in the hills of Himachal. Her traditional clothing and curious, innocent expression tell a story of childhood in the mountains, a beautiful and simple moment from my travels.

A young woman stands beside a blossoming tree in Himachal, the white flowers creating a beautiful, soft backdrop. This portrait captures the feeling of finding beauty in nature and accepting oneself, a theme I often explore on my travels.

Looking up from below, I framed this shot to capture the dramatic contrast between the bright yellow architecture and the deep blue, cloud-filled sky. The person on the balcony becomes a small but significant part of a grand, geometric composition.

About Stories from the Road

When we shoot on the road, we don't fixate on stiff poses. I am looking for the natural interaction between you and the environment—whether it is the light hitting a mountain backdrop or the organic flow of a busy street. You bring your personal style, and I will find the frame; we work with whatever nature offers us that day, keeping things unscripted and raw.

Photography is my way of listening to the world. When I am shooting out on the road, my process is less about direction and more about observation.

Why Outdoor & Travel Shoots?

I avoid studios because they remove the context of your life. When you are standing in a heritage spot in Jaipur or amidst the pine trees in Himachal, you aren't just posing. You are existing in a space that has its own energy. That energy changes how you stand, how you look, and how you breathe. My job is to wait for that moment when you forget I am there.

The Process

We don't need excessive setups. I use a 50mm prime lens, which keeps me close enough to capture expression but far enough to let you be yourself. Whether we are in the streets of the NCR or traveling for a conceptual shoot in the hills, we follow the sun. We rely on natural light, which is why I often suggest planning sessions around sunrise or the golden hour.

What to Expect

  • Collaboration: You bring the clothes that make you feel like yourself. We decide on a location that fits the story you want to tell.
  • Authenticity: We aren't aiming for 'perfect'. We are aiming for honest. If a lock of hair falls out of place or the wind messes up your look, we keep it.
  • Flexibility: Being a traveler means I am comfortable working in diverse environments. I have shot everywhere from the quiet ghats of Kashi to busy street corners.

If you want photos that feel like a snapshot from a larger journey rather than a sterile studio session, we should talk. Let’s create a visual diary that is grounded in your reality.
