Meet Payal: The Designer Behind The Loop Story
After two decades in professional design, I traded my corporate tools for crochet hooks to build a life centered around handmade, sustainable play.
A little about me and how The Loop Story was born. With a background in design, my goal is to create meaningful, handmade products and teach others the skills to do the same. I believe in making things that are safe, sustainable, and full of love.
From the artist to the art she creates. Crochet is an incredibly versatile craft, allowing me to design everything from personalized nursery decor and safe, plastic-free toys to unique accessories for you and your home.
About Meet the Artist & Our Story
When I first picked up my crochet hooks during the pandemic, it was simply to keep my daughter engaged. That humble start quickly grew into a mission to create safe, plastic-free toys and to teach others that same joy of turning yarn into something tangible. Whether you are holding a hook for the first time or looking to master complex 3D amigurumi, my goal is to guide you through a craft that is as relaxing as it is rewarding.
My Journey: From Design to Crochet
With a Masters in Design from NIFT and twenty years of experience in the industry, I have always loved the process of making things. However, running The Loop Story feels different. It is personal. Every piece I create—from custom name buntings to small amigurumi toys—is made with 100% cotton yarn because I believe that toys should be safe, sustainable, and long-lasting.
Learning at My Studio
I believe that creativity is a skill anyone can learn. My home studio in Sector 93A, Noida, is designed to be a safe, low-pressure space. We keep our workshops small, which means I can give you my full attention, whether we are working on basic foundation chains or complex spiral knitting techniques. My approach to teaching is to keep things chill. You are allowed to make mistakes. In fact, that is often where the best learning happens.
Why I Do This
There is a specific moment in every workshop when a student finally understands how the yarn tension works, or when they finish their first project. That moment is why I do this. It is not about selling products; it is about sharing the skill of making something with your own hands. If you are looking for a creative outlet, want a custom-made gift, or simply want to learn a new skill, I would love to have you over at the studio.
