Nature & Macro Photography: The World Up Close
I hunt for stories in the small things, from hidden insect patterns to the quiet chaos of the wild. If you look closely, even a moth has a world of its own.
The incredible texture and vibrant green of a hawk moth cocoon waiting to transform. My macro lens allows me to capture these hidden marvels of nature in stunning detail.
A beautiful Common Jezebel butterfly resting on a leaf. I patiently wait for these moments to capture the delicate patterns and colors of wildlife.
A sequence of shots showing a Black-headed Ibis taking flight. Capturing birds in motion requires a fast shutter and a bit of luck, resulting in dynamic nature photography.
A tense moment between a crocodile and an ibis. This shot tells a story of survival in the wild, captured from a safe distance with a telephoto lens.
A portrait of my fluffy cat, Smokey. Even our pets have stories in their eyes, and I love capturing their personalities up close.
Another shot of my adorable Persian cat, showcasing those big, curious eyes. Pet photography is all about capturing the cute and quirky moments.
A portrait of a stray dog on the streets of Pune. I believe every animal deserves to be seen, and I use my photography to capture their unique character and soul.
Bird watching is a favorite pastime. Here, a stork is captured resting in its nest, a peaceful moment high up in the trees.
An Indian pond heron standing alert on a rock. The detailed focus on its feathers and sharp eye showcases my approach to wildlife portraiture.
A squirrel peeking out from behind a tree. Capturing these quick, shy creatures requires patience and a fast lens.
About The World Up Close: Nature & Macro
I don't just shoot nature; I hunt for the story in the small stuff. I rely on my Nikon Z series and macro prime lenses to pull out textures most people walk right past. When I’m out in the field, I’m looking for that one moment—a moth's wing or a bird’s stare—where the chaos of the world just stops and the details take over.
It is all about the mood. I don't care for bright, over-exposed nature shots that look like textbook diagrams. I want drama. Whether it is a stray dog in Pune or a hawk moth in a Bangalore garden, I use low-light techniques and specific color grading in Lightroom to give it a cinematic edge.
People often ask how I get so close to my subjects. It is not magic; it is just patience and a bit of 'shaitaan' persistence. I spend hours watching for movement, waiting for the perfect angle, and I am ready when the action happens. I capture everything from the intricate textures of a cocoon to the raw reality of street wildlife, keeping the edit moody and the composition tight.
If you are a nature enthusiast, a small brand needing organic, high-detail content, or just someone who wants a different angle on the world, let us talk. I travel across Bangalore and Pune, and if the project idea is crazy enough, I am open to going further.
