My approach to event photography is simple: 90 percent candid and 10 percent whatever you need posed. Whether it is a stand-up comedy night, an open mic, or a musical jam session, I focus on the connection between the performer and the audience. I am not there to stage manage; I am there to document the vibe.
Lighting is usually the biggest headache at intimate venues. I rely on my Nikon Z setup with on-camera flash to handle low-light conditions, ensuring that your photos do not look grainy or washed out. I treat every gig as a story, delivering a mix of black and white edits alongside color shots to really bring out the mood of the evening.
