Bespoke Wedding Invitations & Event Stationery
I believe your special moments deserve more than a standard card. Whether it is a traditional scroll or a modern invitation, I hand-letter every detail to create a keepsake your guests will cherish.
The first wedding card is traditionally offered to the divine. This video showcases a specially handcrafted Devanagari wedding invitation scroll, adorned with floral motifs, ready to begin the sacred journey.
This video showcases a bespoke 25th-anniversary invitation I designed. The black scroll, silver calligraphy, custom wax seal, and glass keepsake box come together to create a truly luxurious and memorable piece.
Personal touches make all the difference. Here, I am handwriting place cards in elegant gold calligraphy on black cardstock, adding a unique and sophisticated charm to a formal sit-down dinner.
A sea of envelopes, each one personally addressed in Gujarati. This traditional service, known as Kankotri Lekhan, brings a sense of heritage and personal care to your wedding invitations.
This Devanagari wedding invitation holds a special place in my heart as it inspired me to learn the script. The final piece is a testament to trust, perseverance, and the joy of bringing a client's vision to life.
The finished Devanagari wedding invitations, rolled into scrolls and adorned with dried flowers, ribbons, and wax seals. Despite a setback, I remade each one to ensure they were perfect.
A single invitation scroll, elegantly placed in a glass keepsake box. This presentation elevates the invitation from a simple notice to a cherished memento of the special day.
Holding the finished Devanagari invitation. The combination of hand-painted florals and handwritten script on high-quality paper creates a piece that is both beautiful to see and to touch.
Another view of the boxed wedding invitation, highlighting the delicate details of the packaging. Every element is chosen to create a beautiful and cohesive presentation.
Custom wax seals created for a 25th-anniversary invitation. These seals feature the couple's initials and wedding date, adding a deeply personal and classic touch to their silver jubilee celebration.
About Bespoke Invitations & Event Stationery
When you hold a handwritten invitation, the texture of the paper and the weight of the wax seal say more than a digital file ever could. I use 300 GSM watercolor paper and custom-dyed ribbons to ensure these aren't just notifications, but keepsakes your guests will want to hold onto long after the celebration ends.
Every piece I create begins with a blank page and a pen, free from digital shortcuts. This is vital because handwriting carries an energy that machine-printed text cannot replicate. When I work on traditional Kankotri Lekhan or modern wedding scrolls, I am not just writing names; I am layering emotions into the paper.
Why Hand-Lettered Details Matter
Your guests often make their first impression of an event based on the invitation. If you choose a scroll tied with a silk ribbon or a card with gold-gilded edges, you are telling them that their presence is valued. I specialise in:
- Traditional & Modern Scripts: Whether you need classic Copperplate or Devanagari calligraphy for a traditional wedding invite, I adapt the script to match the tone of your celebration.
- Material Selection: I work primarily with deckled-edge cotton paper and high-quality cardstock. I also source glass or wooden keepsake boxes for scroll invitations, transforming the unboxing into an experience.
- Custom Finishing: From custom wax seals with your initials to hand-painted watercolor florals that match your wedding theme, no detail is too small.
The Process
I work closely with you to understand the spirit of your event. For a recent 25th-anniversary project, we used a bold black and silver theme throughout the stationery, which required meticulous planning to ensure the silver ink showed perfectly on the black cardstock. If you are planning a sit-down dinner or a formal function, I can also provide handwritten place cards and envelope addressing that ties your entire event aesthetic together. If you are local to Mumbai, we can meet to discuss the paper samples and script styles that feel most like home to you.
