Designer Walls and Feature Paneling for Modern Homes
Boring walls don't have to stay that way. From 3D carved patterns to PU rock finishes, I help you create a focal point that changes the whole mood of your room without breaking the bank.
This video shows my team bringing a 3D design to life. We use CNC machines to carve intricate patterns onto MDF panels, which are then installed on-site to create a stunning, textured feature wall.
I like to experiment with new materials like these PU rock panels. They look just like natural stone but are lightweight, easy to install, and provide good insulation. Here, we added backlighting to enhance the texture.
POP or plaster of Paris isn't just for ceilings. Here, we created a custom arched wall panel with a chevron pattern and highlighted it with an adjustable track light to make it a piece of art.
This is a PVC feather panel, another great option for a decorative wall. These panels are durable, easy to maintain, and come in various designs, making them a popular choice for adding a stylish touch to any room.
About Designer Walls & Paneling
Before picking a panel, we need to talk about your wall condition. Whether it is a damp area or a dry bedroom wall, the substrate matters for longevity. While PU rock panels are excellent for insulation and lightweight aesthetics, they require a solid, even surface to adhere correctly. I always check your wall health before suggesting materials, so you don't end up with peeling panels six months down the line.
Which material fits your wall?
Wall paneling is not just about looks; it is about choosing the right material for your specific room usage.
- PU Rock Panels: These are my go-to for a high-end, textured look. They mimic natural stone but are much lighter and provide better thermal insulation. They are perfect for living room accent walls where you want that 'wow' factor without the weight or cost of real stone.
- 3D Carved MDF: If you want a custom design, this is the way to go. We use CNC machines to carve intricate patterns into MDF. It is versatile, but keep in mind that it is best suited for dry areas like bedrooms or behind a TV unit.
- PVC Feather Panels: These are the practical choice. They are water-resistant, easy to clean, and durable, making them a great option for high-traffic areas or spaces where maintenance is a priority.
The Importance of Lighting
A feature wall is only as good as the light hitting it. Regardless of the material you choose, the right lighting—whether it is a concealed strip light, a focused track light, or a profile LED—is what makes the texture pop. During my site visit, I look at your existing electrical layout and suggest the best way to highlight your new wall. If we need to add focus lights, we plan that into the installation so the final result is seamless.
