I integrate traditional spirituality with contemporary design, creating dedicated pooja units that bring serenity to your home while honouring Vastu principles.

In alignment with Vaastu principles, I incorporated this dedicated pooja mandir into the dining area. The back panel features Spanish stone cladding, symbolizing stability and grounding.

A closer look at the pooja unit, highlighting the spotlight that illuminates the beautiful stone texture and the white marble Ganesha statue, enhancing the sacred atmosphere of the space.

This mandir is a key highlight of the dining area, exuding divinity amidst modern luxury. The design features the Om symbol in golden letters and an inscribed mantra on a white arched panel.

This view shows how the mandir's design harmonizes seamlessly with the dining area, blending traditional spirituality with contemporary elegance to create a peaceful and integrated sacred space.

About this collection

Integrating a pooja unit requires precise planning to balance Vastu compliance with aesthetic flow. I often utilize vertical space or recessed niches, using materials like Spanish stone cladding or backlit marble panels, to establish a distinct sacred zone within your living or dining areas without disrupting your home's open-plan layout.

For many, the pooja room is the soul of the home. When designing for modern apartments in Mumbai, space is often a constraint, but this does not require compromising on spirituality or style. My approach focuses on creating a designated area that stands out visually while blending seamlessly with your existing interior theme.

Material Selection and Lighting

The atmosphere of a sacred space depends heavily on light and texture. I prefer using natural materials like Spanish stone or Italian marble to ground the space, often adding depth through backlighting. For a serene environment, we can incorporate profile lighting or warm spotlights that highlight the texture of the stone and the deity idols. This focus on material depth ensures the unit feels like a deliberate design feature rather than an afterthought.

Integrating Tradition with Modernity

Modern homes often favour clean lines and uncluttered visuals. To achieve this, I frequently design minimalist mandirs that incorporate traditional elements in subtle ways. This might include golden laser-cut Om symbols, inscribed mantras on arched white panels, or recessed shelves that maintain a clean look.

Designing for Vastu

Beyond the aesthetic, I prioritize Vastu compliance during the planning stage. Whether we are carving out a niche in the dining area or creating a standalone unit, I analyze the layout to ensure the orientation aligns with your requirements. By combining technical site knowledge with your specific spiritual needs, I ensure the final result is both functionally sound and peaceful, allowing your home to retain its modern elegance while remaining true to tradition.
