About Nature Writing & Content Creation
Why I Do What I Do
Nature has a way of pulling me in, almost like it’s got its own tune. Whether it’s catching a sunbird zipping by or waiting years for that perfect spider web shot, I can’t help but want to share these moments. For me, it’s about showing the drama and wonder in our wild spaces and making it real for anyone who’s curious.
How I Work
I blend my naturalist’s eye, my camera, and my words to create stories for all kinds of spaces - books, online, or print. I don’t just list facts; I connect the dots through stories, mixing science with personal memories. If you’ve ever wondered why a duck’s wing flashes that wild color or how a chameleon (yaar, asli girgit!) goes about its day, I try to make that fun and easy to get.
What I Cover
- Deep-dives for books and long-form projects, sometimes waiting years just to catch the right moment.
- Shorter articles and photo-essays that spotlight Indian birds, big cats, insects, and “hidden” creatures - think giant squirrels or mushrooms you’d miss on a walk.
- Real fieldwork, so the stories come from Mumbai’s city forests, the Andaman mangroves, Western Ghats, even the wetlands near Jaipur.
Conservation - Kyunki paani zaroori hai (Because water matters)
A lot of my writing is about caring for the wild, calling out pollution, and showing why every creature - from “mango-birds” to tigers - counts. I talk honestly about our impact and why small changes matter.
If you’re after wildlife storytelling that’s rooted in real fieldwork and a bit of heart, that’s what you’ll get here.

My Story
Nature got me hooked real early. I used to call the Golden Oriole ‘Mango-bird’ – didn’t care for fancy names, just loved the colours and songs. Even now, it pops by my Mumbai window, right in Lokhandwala, where greenery spills into my home. Seen a lot change since my SGNP days, like that tribal kid who knew every leaf. For me, it’s not always about sharp shots. Sometimes the blurry leopard pic – the ‘Ghost of the forest’ – says way more.
My Work
Wildlife & Nature Photography, Writing, Naturalist Work - I shoot everything from tigers in reserves to mystical mushroom macro and insects in the backyard.
Storytelling with Every Shot - I dig deep into nature storytelling photography, showing drama – Oakleaf butterfly, pelican theatrics, bird flight.
Macro to Majestic - My lens loves the peerless Stick Insect, Chameleon (Girgit of Hindustan), and the big cats, all equally.
Conservation Through Photos - I highlight wetlands conservation photography, showing the clash between nature and human mess. Wetlands, not wastelands.
