About Wildlife & Nature Photography
Why I Photograph Nature
Nature has a voice, and I listen through my lens. Every time I’m out in the wild, there’s something raw and real waiting to be seen - whether it’s a tiger stepping into sunlight or a sunbird darting for nectar. I’m a naturalist first, so I look for the story, not just a sharp photo.
Stories, Not Just Snapshots
It’s not about a perfect shot for me. I want my images to feel alive - sometimes a blurry leopard in the shadows tells more than a crisp picture. My focus is on the animal’s behavior, the mood of the forest, and how it all fits together in the bigger scheme. If you’re looking for Indian forest wildlife stories, that’s what I do.
The Wild Cast
Leopards, tigers, Nilgiri Tahr - each has a personality. I chase after birds in flight, from Sarus Cranes singing in the fields to the Mango-bird (Golden Oriole) on my Mumbai window. I get just as excited by the little guys - chameleons (Girgit), stick insects, spiders spinning gold in the afternoon sun.
My Wild Stage
I travel a lot, but nature’s drama happens everywhere. My camera’s caught kingfishers in Mumbai’s backyard, and rare primates in the Northeast. The Western Ghats have their own secrets, like Lion-tailed Macaques. Urban nature photography Mumbai is a big part of my work.
Conservation Through Photography
I can’t ignore the mess humans leave behind. My photos show the threats too - feral dogs, plastic, disappearing water (Jal, Paani). I want people to feel what’s at stake and maybe care a little more. This is our one earth, and I’m trying to do my bit with every frame.

My Story
Nature got me hooked real early. I used to call the Golden Oriole ‘Mango-bird’ – didn’t care for fancy names, just loved the colours and songs. Even now, it pops by my Mumbai window, right in Lokhandwala, where greenery spills into my home. Seen a lot change since my SGNP days, like that tribal kid who knew every leaf. For me, it’s not always about sharp shots. Sometimes the blurry leopard pic – the ‘Ghost of the forest’ – says way more.
My Work
Wildlife & Nature Photography, Writing, Naturalist Work - I shoot everything from tigers in reserves to mystical mushroom macro and insects in the backyard.
Storytelling with Every Shot - I dig deep into nature storytelling photography, showing drama – Oakleaf butterfly, pelican theatrics, bird flight.
Macro to Majestic - My lens loves the peerless Stick Insect, Chameleon (Girgit of Hindustan), and the big cats, all equally.
Conservation Through Photos - I highlight wetlands conservation photography, showing the clash between nature and human mess. Wetlands, not wastelands.
