Sarees aren't just clothes; they are my way of expression. Here is a look at my personal drapes, focusing on comfort, movement, and effortless grace.

No stylist needed. Just skill, grace, and six yards of elegance. This is me in a self-draped pink silk saree, feeling confident and happy.

A casual day out in one of my favorite sarees. I believe sarees are for every day, not just for special occasions. Comfort is key.

A candid moment at my studio. Even when I am working, I prefer to be in a saree that is comfortable and easy to move in.

Simple folds, rich vibes, and a happy heart. This is my go-to style for a simple yet elegant look.

Another shot of my self-draped pink saree. I love the way the light catches the silver zari work.

Feeling confident and comfortable in my own drape. This is the feeling I want all my clients to have.

A collage of me in a simple yet elegant black saree. A black saree is a timeless classic that every woman should own.

A simple, elegant drape for a day out. The beauty of a saree is its versatility.

Taking a moment to talk to my students. I love wearing bright, cheerful sarees when I teach.

About My Personal Style

When I drape a saree for myself, my priority is movement. I avoid over-pinning, opting instead for precise pleating that holds the shape naturally. Whether I am in the studio teaching or heading to an event, I use techniques like side sculpting to ensure the saree feels secure and lightweight, letting me move with total freedom.

I believe that if you are not comfortable in your saree, it shows. My personal style is built on the philosophy that a drape should enhance your confidence, not restrict it. When you look at my photos, you will notice clean lines and consistent volume—that comes down to my 'gundu' or fluffy pleat technique. This method gives the fabric a beautiful, rich body without the stiffness that often comes with heavy, unnecessary pinning.

For my everyday wear, I prefer drapes that are practical for my active lifestyle as an educator. I focus on:

  • Silhouette Sculpting: Using clever tucking and blind pinning to create a slimming look that stays put, even after hours of teaching or moving around the studio.
  • Fabric Balance: Choosing the right in-skirt and shapewear to ensure the saree hangs perfectly without dragging or bunching.
  • Minimalism: Using the fewest pins possible to keep the saree light and breathable.

If you are looking to master this art, my classes focus on these same principles. I teach you how to analyze the fabric, understand your own body type, and create a drape that feels like a second skin. It is not just about following steps; it is about building a connection with your saree so you can carry it with grace, whether you are wearing a simple cotton for a work day or a heavy Kanjeevaram for a wedding.
