A derelict restaurant transformed into a timeless retail oasis in the heart of Kala Ghoda, blending Art Deco heritage with modern design sensibilities.

The grand entrance of The Vintage Garden features a black stone fountain and vintage chandeliers, setting a tone of classic elegance. This space was designed to feel like an oasis in the middle of Mumbai's historic Kala Ghoda neighborhood.

A comprehensive view of the boutique's interior, showing the interplay between the ground floor and the mezzanine. The open layout encourages exploration while maintaining a cohesive, vintage-inspired atmosphere throughout the commercial space.

The view from the entrance captures the key elements of our design: the central water feature, lush indoor plants, and racks of vibrant designer clothing. The black and white chevron floor tiles add a graphic, modern contrast to the vintage decor.

The strategic use of mirrors and greenery creates depth and a sense of lushness within the store. The arched mirror reflects the boutique's interior, making the space feel larger and more immersive for shoppers.

Detail is paramount in our work. Here, antique wooden columns frame the raised changing room area, adding a layer of architectural history. The subdued aesthetic of the hand-plastered walls is punctuated by decadent black furniture and brass accents.

This is where it all began. The space was a restaurant in a state of disrepair, but we saw the potential to create something beautiful and timeless. This image is a testament to our expertise in adaptive reuse and commercial space transformation.

About Project Spotlight: The Vintage Garden

To ensure the merchandise remained the focal point of the boutique, we intentionally opted for a restrained, sandy-toned palette of lime-plastered walls and raw cement floors. This creates a serene, quiet backdrop, allowing the vibrancy of the designer clothing and the intricate details of the vintage furniture to command attention without visual clutter.

The walls in The Lovefools were hand-painted by me to achieve this perfectly imperfect, aged texture. Paired with vintage-style lighting and floral upholstery, the dining room feels like a treasured find, a place with history and heart.
A quiet corner at The Lovefools, where the dim lighting and curated art create an intimate mood. Seeing this space thrive, filled with people enjoying the atmosphere, brings me immense joy. It was truly made with love.

A view from the terracotta-tiled courtyard into the main retail space at Eka. The transition to a polished concrete floor marks a shift to a more intimate atmosphere, where custom wood wardrobes and antique displays showcase the clothing.12
The main retail area at Eka features custom-designed wooden wardrobes and a unique glass display case for accessories. The arched doorway and lime-washed walls add to the feeling of being in a familiar, personal space rather than a conventional store.
Clothing is displayed on simple wooden shelves with brass hanging rods, set against textured, lime-washed walls. The material palette is intentionally timeless, using natural wood and concrete to feel both refined and warm.

Heritage Retail Design: The Eka Boutique Project

This is a glimpse into the redesign of the iconic Gallops Banquet Hall at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. My vision was to create a space that feels both grand and versatile. The dramatic black and white marble flooring, combined with rustic wooden beams and magnificent crystal chandeliers, provides a timeless canvas for any significant event.8
For the Parsi Dairy Farm renovation, I wanted to create a space that felt familiar yet fresh. This gifting zone, with its custom red cabinetry and floral upholstered chairs, is a cozy corner where customers can assemble hampers or enjoy a treat. It’s a perfect example of blending charming, old-world features with a clean, modern aesthetic.
Designing an office is about creating a space that is both productive and inspiring. For this workspace at One Place Lodha, I focused on a sophisticated, warm atmosphere using rich wood tones, classic English-style decor, and carefully selected furniture. The goal was to make it feel less like a corporate office and more like a refined, comfortable study.
A lobby is the first impression of a building, and it needs to make a statement. In the Bellevue lobby, I used a bold, intricate marble inlay on the floor and a massive, ornate mirror to create a sense of opulence and grandeur. It’s a space designed to feel luxurious from the moment you step inside.

In the founder's cabin of the Maddock office, we blended antique finds with personal history. The centerpiece is a magnificent 8-foot antique desk, complemented by the founder's very first office chair, which we retained for sentimental value. The space is a narrative of the company's journey.6
We transformed a corner of the founder's cabin into this cozy reading nook. The 10-foot-high bookcase is a refurbished antique medicine cabinet from Jodhpur, which we had to crane up seven storeys to install. It now holds books, awards, and curios collected over the years.
It is a privilege to be entrusted with renovating a landmark of governance and history. Here I am with Hon. Speaker sir Rahul Narwekar, who guided and trusted me with the phased renovation of Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai, a project over two years in the making.

Before the transformation. The original site consisted of several shuttered storefronts, presenting a blank canvas for us to reimagine a unified and interactive facade that engages with the street.
The facade glows with vibrant pink and blue light, demonstrating the transformative power of the RGB system. This feature allows the store to create different moods for product launches, events, or daily retail.
