About Beachside Romance: Couple Maternity Shoots
We plan these sessions during the golden hour, when the Mumbai coastline is at its most gentle. I guide you through a few movements, but most of the time, I just encourage you to hold hands, talk, and focus on the little life you are about to welcome. It helps to keep the shoot relaxed, so you never feel like you are performing for the camera.
Pregnancy is a whirlwind of emotions, and my goal is to give you a moment of stillness amidst that change. A beach setting works perfectly for this because it removes the distractions of a studio. We are not fighting for space or dealing with harsh indoor lights. We are working with the vastness of the ocean and the shifting colours of the sky.
My approach to your session
When we meet at a beach in Mumbai—often quiet spots I have scouted for privacy—we start slowly. There is no rush to pose. I want to capture the way you look at each other, the way your partner rests a hand on your bump, or just the silence of you two standing by the shore. Whether it is your first child or your third, that specific anticipation is unique, and I aim to document it honestly.
Practical details for a stress-free shoot
- Timing: I always suggest the golden hour. It offers the softest light, which is incredibly flattering and creates that ethereal look you often see in my portfolio.
- Wardrobe: You can bring two outfit changes. I recommend flowing fabrics that move with the wind, as they look stunning against the water.
- Comfort: If you feel shy or awkward, that is completely okay. My job is to guide you into comfortable positions where you naturally interact, rather than forcing stiff, traditional poses.
- Deliverables: You receive 25 to 30 high-resolution, professionally retouched images. I also include a few black and white versions, as they tend to strip away the noise and focus purely on the emotion.
