About Celebrating Our Stars
We don't pick winners based on social media hype. Our Player of the Month selections are backed by actual match data from the SFL app and coach evaluations, ensuring that kids who hustle, defend well, and support their teammates get the credit they deserve.
Building a Culture of Recognition
In youth sports, the spotlight often only hits the goalscorer. At SFL, we think that misses the point of development. Whether it is a defensive anchor in the U12 category or a tactical leader in our U17 Girls division, we focus on recognizing the behaviors that lead to long-term success on the pitch.
How We Pick Our Stars
Our awards process is designed to be as objective as possible. We look at three main inputs:
- AI-Driven Stats: Our app tracks passing accuracy, successful assists, and movement metrics from every weekend match.
- Coach Evaluations: Our team tracks technical progress against our PlayToProgress curriculum.
- Community Input: We value the feedback from parents and peers, which is why we include the Fans' Player of the Month category.
Categories
We celebrate consistency across all age groups in both our Mumbai and Pune leagues:
- U8 & U10 (Co-Ed): Recognizing early development and the joy of the game.
- U12 & Sub Junior Boys: Focusing on tactical awareness and team play.
- U14 & U17 Girls: Highlighting the rising talent and technical depth in the women's game.
These monthly awards are more than just a trophy. They are a signpost for kids to see that their hard work—the extra practice sessions and the discipline shown during training—is being noticed.
