When I design a reception stage, my priority is the backdrop lighting. I use a mix of warm LED par cans and crisp focus lights because, honestly, the decor needs to make you look good in photos, not just look pretty on its own. Whether it’s a heavy floral wall or a crystal-draped canopy, I make sure the elements frame you perfectly without overpowering the look.
My approach to reception decor is simple: we start from the guest's perspective. The entrance, the walkway, and finally, the stage. At venues like Crowne Plaza Okhla or The Leela Palace, the space can be vast, so I focus on using deep floral arrangements and layered drapes to create warmth. I don't just put up a stage; I build the entire flow. We look at the fabric texture, the density of the floral work, and the placement of moving head lights so the evening looks as sharp at 10 PM as it did when the guests arrived.
