Craft for a Cause: Volunteer for Inclusion in Bangalore
Spend your weekend creating tactile learning tools that help children with disabilities learn, play, and grow. No art degree needed, just heart.
This is what impact looks like. Volunteers and visually impaired participants working together to craft eco-friendly Rakhis. This Rakshabandhan, we celebrated a bond of inclusion.

We need you! Dedicate just 3 hours on a weekend to help us teach co-curricular activities, including arts and crafts, to students with disability across Bangalore.
About Craft for a Cause
You don't need to be an artist to join. We take simple items like recycled cardboard, chart paper, and scrap materials to create tactile storybooks and learning tools for children with disabilities. It is a hands-on, 3-hour commitment where we sit together, chat, and make a tangible impact for our partner special schools like Eka.
What Happens at a Craft Session?
It is not a workshop where you sit in rows. It is a group of people at Karmasthan in BTM Layout or occasionally at Cubbon Park, laughing, chatting, and cutting up paper. We spend our time creating teaching aids that make learning accessible for children with visual impairments or other disabilities. You will find yourself gluing textured paper for tactile storybooks, painting eco-friendly decor, or cutting out shapes for classroom displays.
Why We Do It
We believe everyone can do something, even if no one can do everything. Special schools often lack the budget for specialized teaching tools, so we bridge that gap with love and creativity. When you join us, you are not just making a prop; you are helping a student understand a concept that might have been difficult before.
The Vibe
The 'Josh' is always high. Whether it is a rainy Sunday at our BTM hub or a sunny morning in Cubbon Park, the focus is on connection. We provide all the scissors, glue, and cardboard. You just bring your willingness to get your hands messy and a few hours of your weekend. Most sessions are open to everyone, whether you are a student, a working professional, or a family looking for a meaningful way to spend your Saturday or Sunday.
Where to Find Us
We are active across Bangalore. Our main hub, Karmasthan in BTM Layout, is where the magic happens most often. Keep an eye out for our weekend updates—we frequently host sessions in HSR Layout and public spaces like Cubbon Park. Ready to join? Come, let us make a difference.
Smileys
We started out as Smileys back in 2011, just some friends wanting to give back with joy. Today, we have built Karmasthan in BTM Layout, a space where anyone can walk in, create, and belong. We are all about breaking stereotypes, whether it is through dance or these hands-on craft sessions.
