Automate Any Appliance with Smart Plugs and IR Blasters

You don't need to replace your existing appliances to make them smart. My setup relies on smart plugs for high-load devices like geysers and ACs, and IR blasters to take over the functions of your standard remote controls. It is a retrofit process, meaning zero wall-breaking or complicated rewiring, and you get full app and voice control immediately after setup.

The core of our automation philosophy is that you shouldn't have to throw away perfectly good electronics just to get smart features. We focus on two primary retrofit methods for this.

First, for devices with physical plugs, we use our 16A smart plugs. These sit between your wall socket and your device, allowing you to manage power consumption, set timers, and toggle appliances like water heaters or coffee makers from your smartphone. It is a straightforward way to automate energy-heavy loads without any specialized electrical knowledge.

Second, for devices that rely on infrared remotes, we use the SmarDen IR Blaster. This small, unobtrusive device sits in your living room and 'learns' the signals from your existing AC, TV, or home theater remote. Once synced, your phone becomes the master remote. You can control the temperature, volume, or channel from anywhere, even if you are not in the same room.
