Featured Mehndi Designs: Bridal, Portraits & Minimalist
A curated look at my favorite projects, from elaborate bridal stories to clean, modern henna. Whether you are in Mumbai or Varanasi, I love mixing traditional motifs with a fresh style.
This is the kind of full bridal mehndi I love to create. This design features detailed portraits of the bride and groom on the palms, surrounded by traditional elements like elephants and intricate patterns extending up to the elbows. It’s a perfect example of how we can tell your story through henna.
Your bridal look isn't complete without beautiful mehndi on your feet. This symmetrical design features delicate mandalas on the top of the feet and rich lotus patterns around the ankles, creating a balanced and elegant look for your wedding day.
This video shows a complete bridal design, with both hands telling a story. On one hand, we have the groom's portrait, and on the other, we have symbolic wedding elements like the kalash and shehnai. I pay close attention to making sure both arms are covered in detailed, complementary patterns.
The final stain is the most important part. I use my own all natural henna paste, which develops into this deep, rich reddish brown color. Achieving a dark and long lasting henna stain is a skill I teach in all my classes.
Mehndi is for all of life's beautiful moments. This was a special design for a baby shower, featuring portraits of the mom and dad to be, along with cute baby themed elements. I can customize designs to celebrate any milestone.
I love playing with contrast in my bridal designs. Here, the dark, filled in motifs of peacocks and lotuses pop against the skin, creating a bold and striking look. This style of negative space work is something we explore in my advanced classes.
This design shows how a single, powerful motif can be the star. The peacock on the palm is created with two different techniques, giving it texture and depth, while the fingers have a delicate, matching floral design.
Sometimes, simple is the most elegant. This clean mandala design is perfect for someone who wants a modern and minimalist look. It’s a great choice for festivals, parties, or for bridesmaids.
About Featured
Every design you see here starts with my own 100 percent natural henna paste, mixed with organic oils to ensure that deep, rich stain. Whether I am sketching a full wedding narrative on a bride or a simple mandala for a party, my focus is always on the quality of the henna and the precision of the lines.
I believe mehndi is a form of storytelling. Over the last decade, I have focused on perfecting my craft across two very different cities, Mumbai and Varanasi. This featured collection highlights the variety in my work, ranging from complex, architectural-inspired bridal motifs to clean, modern patterns for festivals.
Bridal Narratives and Portraits
When I create bridal mehndi, I am not just drawing patterns. I incorporate the couple’s journey, using portraits, venue elements, or symbols that define their story. My approach is to ensure the design flows naturally up the arms, balancing heavy coverage with space so the art breathes.
The Technique Behind the Stain
The secret to a great design is half art, half chemistry. Many clients ask why their henna color varies. It is entirely about the paste quality and the after-care. I use natural henna powder and essential oils, which react with your body heat to create that signature dark burgundy color.
