Traditional Maharashtrian Maternity Photoshoot
Celebrate this special chapter with the elegance of a traditional Maharashtrian maternity shoot, complete with authentic elements like Paithani sarees, antique samai lamps, and fresh marigold decor.
A full-length portrait showcasing the grace of a mother-to-be in a beautiful teal saree. The studio lighting is carefully set to highlight the texture of the fabric and the gentle curve of the baby bump.
In this fine-art portrait, I used moodier lighting to create a more contemplative and artistic feel. The focus is entirely on the mother's peaceful expression and her connection with her baby.
This is one of my favorite shots to create. The flowing saree pallu adds a beautiful, dynamic element to this traditional Maharashtrian maternity portrait, capturing a sense of grace and movement against a classic studio backdrop.
The beauty is in the details. This close-up portrait highlights the elegance of a traditional Maharashtrian look, from the classic nath and gold jewelry to the serene expression of the mother-to-be.
A timeless black and white profile shot. Removing the color brings focus to the emotion, the gentle smile, and the beautiful silhouette, complete with a traditional gajra in her hair.
This dramatic black and white portrait uses light and shadow to create a powerful and artistic image. It captures the strength and anticipation of motherhood in a classic, painterly style.
Comfort is my priority. This video shows how I can bring a complete, professional studio setup to your home for a traditional maternity shoot, ensuring you get beautiful, stress-free portraits.
About Traditional Maharashtrian Maternity
I bring a professional studio setup directly to your home so you can pose comfortably while we capture the essence of Godh Bharai traditions. Whether it is the soft glow of brass samai lamps or the intricate drape of a Paithani saree, we focus on the small details that make these portraits feel like timeless family heirlooms.
Authentic Cultural Portraits
My approach to maternity photography is deeply influenced by the traditional Maharashtrian aesthetic. I believe your pregnancy portraits should not just show the baby bump, but also the rich heritage and culture surrounding this journey. I focus on key elements that define this style: the elegant nath, classic gold jewelry, fresh gajra in your hair, and the warmth of marigold flowers.
The Comfort of Home
Many mothers find travelling for a shoot tiring during pregnancy. That is why I offer an in-home studio service. I arrive with professional lighting, softboxes, and textured fine-art backdrops to transform a corner of your home into a photo studio. This setup process takes about an hour, ensuring you remain relaxed and energized for the shoot.
What You Get
- Styling Guidance: While you provide your favorite sarees, I help with posing and styling that highlights the bump gracefully.
- Professional Editing: Each session includes fine-art retouching to ensure your portraits are print-ready.
- A Personal Touch: We incorporate traditional props like brass lamps and fruit platters to create a cohesive, authentic look that feels like a ceremony rather than a sterile photoshoot.
Planning Your Session
We recommend scheduling your maternity session between the 7th and 8th month of pregnancy. At this stage, the baby bump is perfectly visible and your comfort levels are generally better for a 3 to 4-hour shooting window. If you are also interested in outdoor scenic photos or a full-day package, I can combine our indoor studio work with a natural light session at a garden or lake location.
