About Curly Hair Color
Most stylists are afraid to touch curly hair with color, but I do it differently. I use a hand-painting technique that respects your ringlets rather than pulling them straight or damaging the structure. Whether you’re looking for deep, rich 'Chocolate Swirls' or a bold 'Pomegranate Sangria' look, my process focuses on keeping your hair hydrated and your curl pattern bouncy, not brittle.
Why Curly Hair Needs a Custom Touch
When you have curls, you know the struggle: not every color technique works for you. Standard foil methods can sometimes stretch out your ringlets or cause frizz. My approach is all about 'curl-first' coloring. I map out your hair while it’s dry or semi-dry to see how the curls naturally clump together, then paint the color onto the surface to add dimension exactly where it hits the light.
The 'No-Bleach' Reality
If you want to go warmer—think caramel, mocha, or copper tones—we usually don't need bleach. I use high-lift tints that deposit color while conditioning, which keeps your curls intact. This is perfect for those who want a change without compromising on hair health.
Fashion Colors & Correction
If you are dreaming of vibrant blues, purples, or pinks, we will need to lighten the hair first. I am fully transparent about this: I use bond builders like Olaplex or K18 to ensure that even with the lift, your curl pattern stays tight and defined. No surprises, no guessing games.
My Process at Khar
- The Vibe Check: We sit down and talk about your hair goals. If you have old box dye or damage, we deal with that first.
- The Painting: I hand-paint your curls. This ensures the color grows out seamlessly—no harsh roots, just soft, natural transitions.
- The Hydration: Since color can be drying, I finish every session with a moisture-lock treatment to make sure your hair feels soft, not straw-like.
I’m based in Khar, and my salon is a space where you can just chill with some music while we work on your transformation.
Bani
I’m Bani, and I run the show here at my Khar studio. For me, hair is just like art—every strand has its own flow, especially when it’s curly. I don't believe in cookie-cutter styles, so I work with your natural texture to create something that’s actually wearable and vibrant.
