For most homes and offices, I steer clients toward SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) planks. Unlike traditional vinyl, SPC is rigid and completely waterproof, which makes it perfect for Bengaluru's varying climate. You get the aesthetic of natural timber without the swelling or maintenance hassles.

If you are working on a tighter budget, standard PVC vinyl planks are an excellent alternative. These are flexible, quick to install using a high-strength adhesive, and very easy to keep clean.

My installation process is designed to be efficient:

• Preparation: We start by cleaning and scraping the subfloor to ensure a smooth base.
• Installation: For click-lock SPC, we use a floating floor method that does not require glue. For thinner PVC, we use a high-strength synthetic adhesive.
• Finishing: I always include the necessary skirting and door profiles to ensure the transition from floor to wall looks clean and finished.
