Actually, your biggest worry shouldn't be the steps. It’s often the outfit or the song flow. I’ve worked with brides in heavy lehengas and grooms who’ve never danced a day in their lives. My choreography focuses on what looks good on you, ensuring the moves are comfortable for your specific attire, whether it’s a heavy saree or a stylish sherwani.
YouTube videos look great, but they aren't built for a stage or your comfort level. When I design a solo routine, we start with what you actually like, not what's trending for everyone else. If you have two left feet, we keep it simple. If you have some dance experience, we add that extra bit of swag to make it stand out.
My process is straightforward:
- Song Selection & Mixing: You pick the song, and I handle the tempo adjustments and cuts so it fits perfectly into your 2-3 minute slot.
- Outfit-Friendly Moves: We practice with your costume restrictions in mind. If you are wearing a heavy dupatta or a tight-fitting outfit, the steps are adjusted so you can move freely without stressing about a wardrobe malfunction.
- Rehearsals: We can do this in-person at your living room, or via virtual tutorials if you are busy or out of town. You get reference videos to practice at your own pace whenever you have time.
- Stage Presence: A solo performance is about more than just steps. I help you with your expressions, entry, and how to hold the stage so you look like a pro even if you are nervous inside.
It is about making sure you feel confident when you step onto that stage. When you finish your performance and look at the crowd, I want you to feel nothing but joy.
