Natural Grey Hair Blending and Styling
Most people think grey hair means constant, harsh root touch-ups. That is a myth. Whether we blend your greys with soft highlights or embrace a bold salt-and-pepper look, my goal is a style that stays healthy and low-maintenance for months.
This client wanted to hide her grey hair. We did a global colour and then a balayage to blend the greys seamlessly for a low-maintenance result.
How to create a salt and pepper look. Here, we added pepper (dark lowlights) to the natural salt (white hair) for a striking, high-contrast look.
About Embracing or Blending: My Approach to Grey Hair
If you choose to blend, we do not just dump colour on your roots. I use strategically placed lowlights and highlights that mimic your natural hair growth. This creates a soft transition, so you do not deal with a harsh line of demarcation or frequent salon visits for root touch-ups. It should look natural, even as it grows.
Two Ways to Handle Grey
When it comes to grey hair, you generally have two paths, and I am here to guide you to the one that fits your lifestyle.
1. Blending the Greys This is for those who aren't ready to go fully grey. We use a balayage or lowlight technique to intersperse the grey with tones that match your natural hair colour. This breaks up the solid grey, making it look like intentional, sun-kissed highlights rather than regrowth. It is low-maintenance, classy, and keeps your hair looking fresh for months.
2. Embracing the Salt & Pepper If you want to own your natural hair, let's do it right. Creating a true salt-and-pepper look isn't just about letting it grow out. It requires adding 'pepper' (dark lowlights) in specific areas to create contrast against your 'salt' (white hair). This adds depth and volume, stopping your hair from looking flat or washed out.
Why Health Comes First
I hear people asking for bleach to 'fix' their greys. Main saaf saaf bolta hoon (I speak clearly): I avoid bleach whenever I can. Bleaching mature hair can cause dryness and breakage, which is the last thing you want. My techniques rely on colour deposit and precise application. This keeps the hair quality high, shiny, and strong.
