Outdoor Dog Training and Forest Therapy Sessions
Move your training beyond the neighborhood streets. Join our forest treks and guided outdoor sessions to help your dog stay calm, confident, and neutral around distractions.
Having a reactive dog doesn't mean you have to give up on fun activities like hiking. It's completely possible to go trekking with your dog. The key is managing space and being mindful of other dogs and people, ensuring your dog feels safe and has no need to react.
I call this "Forest Therapy." An early morning walk in nature is one ofthe best ways to enrich your dog's life and practice neutrality around triggers in a calm setting. Here, Xena and Pluto are enjoying a peaceful walk, building their confidence together.
The end goal of all this training is to see dogs just being dogs: happy, relaxed, and able to have fun. Here are my Bruce and his friend Rover enjoying a good play session. This is the joy that good training and socialization can bring.
About Outdoor Adventures with Your Dog
Walking a reactive dog often feels like a constant battle, but nature changes the game. I use forest therapy and quiet nature walks to help your dog decompress by sniffing and exploring, while teaching them to remain neutral around triggers at a safe distance.
Training in the Real World
Most dog training happens in isolation, but life happens outside. My outdoor sessions in North Bangalore are designed to move your dog from stressed to chill. We use large open grounds and nature trails where we have the space to manage distance properly. When a dog has enough space, they usually do not feel the need to react.
How Forest Therapy Helps
It is not just about walking. Forest therapy is about letting your dog sniff, explore, and decompress. This natural sniffing behavior actually lowers their cortisol levels and helps them relax. On our trails, we practice neutrality. If we see another group, we create a buffer zone and move parallel to them rather than meeting head-on.
Essential Gear & Safety
I am a huge advocate for using a 15-foot long line. It gives your dog freedom to sniff the grass and explore the trail without the tension of a tight, short leash, which often signals anxiety to your dog. For reactive dogs, we always ensure we have an exit strategy, like moving into the brush or using a visual barrier if a trigger appears.
Join a Session
If you are in Yelahanka or Vidyaranyapura, these outdoor sessions are a great next step after we cover the basics. It is the perfect environment to proof your training and finally enjoy a stress-free walk with your best friend.
