Acoustic Covers: Classic and Indie Songs for Your Event
I strip back the songs you know to their acoustic core, blending classic anthems with modern indie tracks. Whether it is a coffee house vibe or a relaxed dinner, my music is about sharing the stories behind the songs I love.
A simple, heartfelt cover of Bill Withers' 'Just the Two of Us.' This is the kind of soulful, classic tune I love to play.
My take on 'Something' by The Beatles. It’s a timeless song, and I enjoy playing it in this simple, acoustic style.
An acoustic cover of Nirvana's 'Lithium.' I enjoy taking heavier grunge songs and stripping them down to their melodic core on an acoustic guitar.
Covering one of my biggest influences, John Mayer, with 'Your Body is a Wonderland.' His singer-songwriter style has had a huge impact on my own music.
Here's an unplugged version of 'Aerials' by System of a Down. It's a challenge to translate metal songs to acoustic, but I love how it brings out the melody.
A fun cover of 'Follow Me' by Uncle Cracker. This is a great, lighthearted song that's always a crowd-pleaser.
A mini cover of another Bill Withers classic, 'Ain't No Sunshine.' His songs have so much soul, they are a joy to sing.
An a cappella and acoustic arrangement of Elvis Presley's 'Don't Be Cruel.' I had fun layering the vocals for this one.
Another clip from my multi-track cover of the Elvis classic 'Don't Be Cruel.' It was a fun experiment to create harmonies with myself.
This is a cover of 'Change' by Karnivool. Hearing this song really inspired me to get back to singing during a creative block.
About Acoustic Covers: My Take on the Classics
When I play these covers, I am not just recreating the radio version. I am stripping them down to fit the room, whether that means slowing down an upbeat pop song for a cocktail hour or finding the acoustic soul in a heavy grunge track. If you are worried about volume, my setup is designed for intimate spaces where conversation still matters and the music complements the atmosphere rather than overpowering it.
My setlist is built on songs that shaped my own journey as a musician. I pull from a mix of eras and styles, including folk legends like Cat Stevens, classic soul from Bill Withers, and the singer-songwriter honesty of John Mayer. I also enjoy the challenge of taking heavier bands like Nirvana or System of a Down and finding the melody hidden in the distortion by playing them unplugged.
How I Approach a Gig
For me, live music works best when it feels like a conversation.
- The Vibe: I focus on a low-key, coffee-house feel. It is about creating a space where people can talk, eat, and relax while still enjoying the live performance.
- The Setup: I keep my gear minimal. I use a professional vocal mic, an electro-acoustic guitar, and a portable PA system, which makes it easy to set up in smaller venues, apartments, or corporate boardrooms across Mumbai.
- The Setlist: While I have a core list of songs I love, I am always happy to discuss your preferences. Whether you want a string of romantic classics for a sundowner or upbeat indie pop for a house party, we can align the playlist with the mood of your event.
Practical Logistics
My solo acoustic performances are typically split into two 45-minute sets, giving us a total of 90 to 120 minutes of live music. If your event needs a fuller sound, I also collaborate with percussionists or other vocalists to bring more energy for dance-heavy functions. If you are looking for someone who keeps things simple and honest, let's connect.
