Music for the Soul: Bhajans & Chants
I believe music is medicine. This collection of bhajans, chants, and devotional pieces is my way of tapping into the divine and helping you find your center.
My live performance of the "Shiv Tandav Stotram" in Nepal's historic Patan Darbar Square. This powerful hymn glorifies Lord Shiva's cosmic dance, and chanting it is believed to bring immense peace and spiritual strength.
The full version of my Himachali folk bhajan, "Shiv Kailasho Ke Waasi." This ode to Lord Shiva connects me to my roots and was taught to me by my mother, making it incredibly special to perform.
A clip of me singing "Om Namah Shivay" from my soul. This tribute to Lord Shiva from my New York show was a moment of pure devotion and connection with the divine.
A video for my original composition, "The Burning Ghat." This piece is an ode to the sacred fire at Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi, symbolizing liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
A performance of a Ganesha bhajan from an intimate gathering in New York. The melody is a devotional offering to the remover of obstacles, perfect for starting any new venture with blessings.
Playing my sitar for Ganpati Bappa during a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration in Mumbai. It was an honor to perform at the celebration hosted by the Ambani family.
A collage from the Ganesh Chaturthi performance, showing a close-up of the Ganesha henna on my hand. The intricate details are a small tribute to the deity.
A performance of "Saare Jahan Se Acha," a composition by my Guru, Pt. Ravi Shankar. I dedicated this performance on India's Independence Day to my late grandmother, a true patriot.
A preview of the "Shiv Kailashon Ke Waasi" video. This folk bhajan from Himachal is a prayer to Lord Shiva, the ruler of the Dhauladhar mountains, to remove all obstacles from our lives.
A moment from my performance of "Chanakya," a piece inspired by the 'Veer Rasa' or emotion of courage. For me, the sitar is my weapon to inspire peace and consciousness.
About Music for the Soul: Bhajans & Chants
These aren't just performances; they are attempts to reach a higher frequency. When I play the 'Shiv Tandav Stotram' or 'Shiv Kailash,' I’m not just hitting notes—I’m aiming to create a space where you can drop your guard, breathe, and actually feel something. My goal is to use the Sitar to bridge the gap between ancient devotion and your current state of mind.
I grew up with the sounds of the Sitar and the wisdom of my Guru, Pt. Ravi Shankar. These bhajans and chants are more than a setlist for me; they are a direct line to my roots. Whether it’s the power of the 'Shiv Tandav Stotram' performed in the historic Patan Darbar Square or the folk warmth of 'Shiv Kailash' taught to me by my mother, every piece is designed to ground you.
I use the Sitar to explore different 'Rasas' or emotions—channeling the courage of 'Veer Rasa' with my composition 'Chanakya,' or the love and devotion of 'Shringhar' in 'Shankara.' It’s about taking the ancient, heavy energy of these ragas and making them accessible for the modern world.
If you’re looking to host an event that’s less 'background music' and more 'immersive experience,' let’s chat. Whether it’s an intimate gathering needing deep silence or a larger celebration where you want the energy to be high but meaningful, we can make it happen. I bring the same focus and sound engineering care to these private sessions as I do to my international tours.
