Music is a lineage, not just a career. This is a look into the history, the instruments, and the mentors that define my sound today.

I miss you, Guruji. This video includes rare footage of me as a child with my Guru, the great Pt. Ravi Shankar. His wisdom illuminates my path every day, and I am forever indebted to him for shaping me as an artist and a seeker.

A precious memory of my first time on stage, with my father and first guru, Sanjay Rikhiram. He is the best instrument maker in the world, and his guidance has been with me since the very beginning.

A moment during a 3am soundcheck, with my father in the background. He is always there, supporting me and ensuring my instrument is perfect. This legacy is a shared journey.

My heart, my roots. Standing outside the Rikhi Ram's Music store in Gole Market, Delhi. This is my family's legacy, handcrafting musical instruments since 1920, and it is the foundation of everything I do.

About My Roots & Journey

The foundation of my music starts at Rikhi Ram's Music in Gole Market, Delhi, where my family has been crafting sitars since 1920. When you book a performance with me, you are not just getting a musician; you are getting an instrument tuned by the very hands that have served legends for a century. Whether you see me playing a traditional raga or a fusion track, the quality of sound is a direct result of this family legacy.

The images here are more than just memories. They are the documentation of a journey that spans from the quiet, dusty floors of a Delhi workshop to the brightest stages in the world.

My father, Sanjay Rikhiram, taught me that a musician is only as good as the instrument they play. That is why I personally oversee the setup of every sitar and Zitar I bring to your venue. If the instrument is not right, the performance cannot be right. This is a level of technical detail that most musicians cannot provide because they do not have the manufacturing lineage behind them.

My path was shaped by the wisdom of Pt. Ravi Shankar. His teachings were not just about notes and scales, but about silence, breath, and the intent behind the sound. This philosophy is exactly what I bring to my corporate wellness sessions and private concerts. When I perform, I am channeling a century of craft and a lifetime of rigorous training, making every event a blend of history and contemporary energy.

I treat every gig with the same discipline, whether it is a small, candle-lit private gathering or a massive, multi-city tour. If you are looking for a performance that holds this kind of weight, I am here to discuss how we can bring that authentic vibe to your event.

I live for the fusion of the old and the new. My music is a constant conversation with my father and my Guru, translated for the modern world. Whether it is a meditation session or a full-band concert, everything I play is rooted in that 100-year-old family legacy.
