Creating a sacred, meditative ambiance for your satsang, prayer meet, or spiritual gathering with soul-stirring sitar melodies from the Rampur Senia Gharana.

A Ganesh Vandana from Pandit Ravi Shankar’s immortal album 'Chants of India'. An invocation to Lord Ganesha is a beautiful way to begin any auspicious event.

A sitar rendition of the bhajan 'Raghupati Raghav Rajaram'. There are thousands of versions of the Ramayana, and this bhajan itself has been sung in countless ways, each beautiful in its own right.

On the occasion of Ram Navami, I tried this beautiful song from the movie Swadesh. It is a heartfelt prayer to Lord Ram.

This is a devotional piece, a bhajan for Goddess Durga, perfect for spiritual gatherings and satsangs. My aim is to create a sacred atmosphere that complements the occasion.

A Shyama Sangeet composed by my first Guru, Late Shri Arup Banerjee. These Bengali devotional songs are unique as the worshipper often speaks to the Goddess like a friend or daughter.

Here I tried to play a Shyama Sangeet that I grew up listening to. These songs, sung in praise of Goddess Kali, are a significant musical tradition in Bengal.

Every time there is conflict in the world, I question the relevance of my music. But I believe playing music is my small part in making the world a more peaceful place. This is a piece for Durga Puja.

About this collection

For spiritual gatherings and satsangs, I prioritize an acoustic, unamplified experience that helps the audience connect with the music. Whether it is the intricate nuances of a Shyama Sangeet or the steady calm of a Ganesh Vandana, my goal is to set a reflective mood. If you have specific bhajans or hymns that hold significance for your event, do let me know in advance so I can prepare them properly.

My approach to devotional music is deeply rooted in the dhrupad baaj of the Rampur Senia Gharana. I treat these performances as a form of sadhana, where the sitar acts as a conduit for peace rather than a mere instrument for entertainment. Unlike concert performances where I focus on technical acrobatics like jhala, here the emphasis is on the meditative alaap, creating a space for introspection.

I often perform Shyama Sangeet, a unique tradition of Bengal where the worshipper converses with the Goddess, often singing about the complexities of human life. I also play traditional bhajans like 'Raghupati Raghav Rajaram' or devotional pieces for Navratri, carefully adapting classical ragas to suit the spiritual context of your event.

These sessions work best in intimate settings. Since I focus on the acoustic quality, I usually do not need heavy PA systems for baithak-style setups, which makes the logistics straightforward for you. Whether it is a morning prayer meet or an evening satsang, I ensure the music remains a subtle, guiding backdrop to the devotion, not a distraction from it. Galti maaf if my style differs from standard concert expectations; I am merely sharing the music I have learned from my gurus.
