About this collection
When you are starting with foundational drawing, the biggest hurdle is not the skill itself, it is learning how to observe your subject. We do not just teach you how to shade, we teach you how to break down complex forms into simple geometry, which is exactly the technical ability examiners look for in a BFA entrance portfolio.
Drawing is the backbone of all great art. Whether you are aiming for art college or just want to improve your sketching skills, the basics of light, shade, and proportion are where we start. In our studio, we work with everything from graphite pencils to charcoal and soft pastels, helping you understand how to create depth and texture on paper.
Our approach moves beyond basic copying. We guide you through still-life setups, object drawing, and portraiture, focusing on how light behaves across different surfaces. This helps you build the visual vocabulary needed for advanced work. For students aiming for BFA entrance exams, we treat these sessions as a crucial part of your preparation. We emphasize clean lines, correct proportions, and the ability to handle high-contrast shadows effectively.
If you are working towards a portfolio, we will guide you on curating your pieces, ensuring your submissions show both technical range and artistic intent. We keep our studio sessions quiet and focused so you can actually engage with your work without the usual distractions. You are welcome to visit our space in Green Park to see the materials we use and discuss your goals.
