Accessories do more than complete an outfit. They set the tone, tell the story, and turn a simple ensemble into a personal statement. Whether it is stacking mixed metals or finding that vintage bazaar gem, the right details make all the difference.

A glimpse of my sourcing process in Scotland. This beautiful red belted jacket with fringe and paisley details is one of my favorite finds.

About The Magic of Accessories

I treat accessories like characters in a screenplay. When I style for an event, I do not just pick jewelry; I look for pieces that balance the outfit’s silhouette. For example, if we are working with a heavily embellished saree, I often prefer minimal, sharp ear cuffs to add a contemporary edge without competing with the weave. It is about knowing when to layer heavily and when to let a single, bold piece do all the talking.

My Approach to Accessory Styling

Styling is about intentionality. When I curate accessories for a client, I am looking for the missing piece that ties the entire visual narrative together. My process is divided into three key areas:

  • Mixed Metal Layering: I love breaking traditional jewelry rules. Mixing gold, silver, and oxidized metals creates depth and a modern, eclectic vibe. It is about texture—pairing a smooth gold band with a matte, vintage find keeps the eye moving.
  • Custom Jewelry Curation: Sometimes the perfect piece simply does not exist. That is when I collaborate with designers or local artisans to create custom ear cuffs, rings, or statement belts that match the color palette of the ensemble perfectly.
  • Bazaar to Boutique: High-end style does not always need a high-end price tag. I frequently combine investment pieces with treasures found in local bazaars to add grit and soul to a look. Whether it is emerald earrings for a gala or simple stacked rings for a press tour, every choice is calibrated to the character we are building.

Why Details Matter

An outfit is just fabric until you add the accessories. A sleek ponytail calls for a statement ear cuff, not a necklace. A structured blazer needs the right mix of rings to soften the sharp lines. During my styling sessions, we spend time experimenting with these combinations, ensuring the final look feels authentic to you, not like it was pulled off a mannequin.

If you are planning an event, we should chat about the narrative you want to project. It is usually the smallest detail—a specific bangle stack or the way a belt clinches a waist—that people remember.
