Maharashtrian Bridal Makeup Styles
I specialize in creating traditional Maharashtrian bridal looks, from the classic Sakarpuda to the iconic Navari, focusing on radiant skin that stays fresh through every ritual.
A truly authentic Maharashtrian engagement look. The makeup is soft and radiant, with attention to the eyes and the traditional mundavalya and earchain. The yellow and pink saree combination is vibrant and celebratory.
For this beautiful Navari look, I created an ultimate soft glam style. The focus is on flawless skin, subtly enhanced eyes, and letting the magnificent jewelry, like the nath and layered necklaces, take center stage against the rich maroon velvet saree.
A candid moment of happiness. This close-up shows the radiant, skin-like finish of the makeup, with a soft smile that lights up her face. The traditional Maharashtrian jewelry and bright yellow saree complete this joyful bridal look.
Here is a glimpse of a radiant glass skin makeup look, perfectly suited for an Indian bride. The makeup is dewy and fresh, complementing the vibrant yellow and pink silk saree and traditional gold jewelry for a timeless Maharashtrian wedding style.
This look is a symphony of love and tradition. The bride is wearing a stunning pink bandhani saree, and I’ve complemented it with soft, glowing makeup and an elaborate hairstyle featuring a cascade of fresh flowers.
Painted with poise and adorned with pride. This look features classic kohl-rimmed eyes and a flawless base, set against a beautiful yellow saree. It’s a timeless Maharashtrian bridal style that is both bold and meek.
A closer look at the Sakarpuda (engagement) look. I focused on creating a soft, romantic feel with glowing skin and beautifully curled hair adorned with fresh gajra. This look is a favorite of mine for its elegance and traditional charm.
About this collection
A Maharashtrian bridal look is truly about the synergy between your jewellery, the drape of your Nauvari saree, and your makeup. I focus on skin prep that lasts through the rituals without feeling heavy, ensuring the traditional nath and mundavalya are perfectly balanced against your features rather than being hidden.
The key to a perfect Maharashtrian bridal look is knowing when to let the tradition speak for itself and when to enhance it with modern technique. Whether you are opting for a Sakarpuda engagement ceremony or the main wedding day, my goal is to ensure you look like yourself, just more radiant.
My Approach to Traditional Looks
- Skin Prep is Priority: I don't believe in heavy, cakey layers. I use a thorough CTM routine with hydration-focused products like Embryolisse. This is especially important for long wedding ceremonies where you might be under harsh stage lights or exposed to the heat of the havan.
- Balancing the Jewellery: Maharashtrian bridal attire often includes heavy gold jewellery, a distinct nath, and mundavalya. I design your eye makeup and lip shades to complement these pieces, not compete with them. If your saree is a rich, heavy Paithani, we might opt for a balanced, soft-glam eye look to keep the focus on your ensemble while still defining your eyes.
- The 'Navari' Aesthetic: For the Navari look, the focus is often on an authentic, traditional finish. I emphasize clean lines, defined brows, and a flawless base that holds up to the structure of the saree drape. I ensure the finish is dewy and fresh, preventing that flat, matte look that can sometimes feel too staged.
What to Expect During Our Session
Every session begins with a conversation about your vision. We will talk about your outfit colors and the style of jewellery you have chosen. I am based in Mumbai but travel across India, so whether your ceremony is in a local hall or at a destination venue, I ensure the same level of care. My setup includes everything needed to handle sensitive skin and last-minute touch-ups, so you can focus on your big day while I handle the artistry.
