About Behind the Fun: Rehearsals & BTS
My rehearsals are designed to work around your life, not the other way around. Whether we are meeting in your living room or a studio, the focus is on making you feel comfortable enough to let go. We do not just count steps; we figure out what makes you move, ensuring that even if you feel like you have two left feet, you will be ready to own the stage.
There is a massive difference between learning dance steps and actually owning them on your big day. When we practice, my goal is to strip away the nervousness so you can focus on the fun.
How We Practice
We keep things real. If you are a beginner, we start with the basics—posture, simple moves, and rhythm. If you are a seasoned dancer, we amp it up with complex routines. My sessions are held at your convenience, whether that is at your home in Mumbai or a rented studio space.
Creating Your Story
I do not believe in one-size-fits-all routines. For Sangeet choreography, I like to mix things up. We might start with a soft, romantic track for the couple and transition into a high-energy flash mob for the friends and family. I also coordinate with audio editors to include voiceovers or special sound edits that highlight your specific story, making your performance more than just a dance—it is a production.
Inclusive Choreography
I love working with everyone, from the bride and groom to the chachus, buas, and grandparents. I simplify moves so that no matter your age or comfort level, you feel included. The 'dhamal' you see in these photos comes from creating a space where people feel safe to laugh at themselves and celebrate.
