Newborn Photography: Capturing Your Baby's First 15 Days
The first two weeks fly by. Those tiny yawns, the way they curl up, and the first sleepy smiles are here for a blink, then gone. My Jhotwara studio is designed to hold onto these moments for you, safely and gently.
This classic 'chin on hands' pose is a favorite for newborn photography. I achieve this pose safely and patiently while the baby is in a deep sleep, resting on a soft, furry blanket.
Another beautiful example of the 'chin on hands' or 'froggy' pose, with a lovely floral headband adding a touch of sunshine.
That sleepy smile is just priceless! I love capturing these fleeting expressions while babies dream during their newborn session.
A tiny musician dreaming sweet melodies. Using miniature props like this guitar adds a unique and personal touch to your newborn's portraits.
Your little butterfly, swaddled and sleeping peacefully. This whimsical setup with wings and clouds makes for a magical first portrait.
Two little sunflowers, born together. This photo showcases a beautiful setup for newborn twins, nestled together in a basket.
Dreaming in a tiny bed, holding a teddy bear. I have a collection of miniature furniture in my studio to create these adorable, story-like scenes.
A close-up of a newborn wrapped snugly, with delicate butterfly wings against a vibrant red backdrop.
This awake and alert newborn is wrapped in a bold red swaddle, looking right at the camera. We capture both sleepy and awake moments.
A beautiful way to announce the birth date, with the baby sleeping peacefully in a bowl prop.
About Newborn Dreams: The First Few Days
The sweet spot for these newborn portraits is when your baby is between 5 and 15 days old. During this short window, they are naturally sleepier and more comfortable in those classic, curled-up poses. If you are past this window, we can still do a beautiful session, but for those tiny, dream-like portraits, I always suggest booking your slot while you are still expecting to ensure we catch them when they are at their sleepiest.
Why the First 15 Days Matter
Newborn photography is all about timing. In these first two weeks, babies are used to being curled up in the womb, which makes it easier for them to settle into those adorable, tucked-in poses. This is when we capture those peaceful sleeping expressions and tiny details like curled fingers and toes that change so quickly as they grow.
My Studio Approach in Jaipur
My studio in Jhotwara is built entirely around baby comfort. It is kept warm and cozy because a comfortable baby is a happy baby. I don't believe in rushing a shoot. If your little one needs a feed, a diaper change, or just a little extra cuddle to drift off to sleep, we take that time. There is no stress and no ticking clock.
Safety First
Safety is my priority. The poses you see in my gallery are achieved patiently, without force, and often with the help of supporting wraps and props. I sanitize all blankets, wraps, and props between every single session. You can rest easy knowing your little one is in a clean, gentle environment.
What to Expect
When you book a session, we aren't just taking photos. We are documenting the start of your journey as a family. We will discuss the 'look' you want beforehand—whether that is a clean, classic aesthetic with neutral tones or something more creative like a fairy or floral theme. Everything from the props and blankets to the outfits is provided by the studio, so you just need to bring yourselves and your baby.
Pooja Yadav
Hi, I'm Pooja. I started this in 2018 because I wanted to help families freeze time. Whether it's those tiny, sleepy smiles or a creative setup like a little fairy, my goal is to give you photos that feel as warm as a cuddle. I love the chaos and the quiet of newborn sessions, and I would love to capture your little one's story.
