About The Art of Plating: Still Photography
Getting the lighting right for a steaming biryani or a textured prawn curry is half the battle; we solve this by using specific garnishing techniques and in-house props that mimic how a customer actually sees the plate at the table. We don't just click images, we focus on the plating and food temperature, ensuring your food doesn't look like a stiff stock photo, but like a real, ready-to-eat meal your customers can crave.
Great food photography is about more than just a camera; it is about making the viewer hungry from their phone screen. At our Mumbai studio, we handle the entire process, from concept and ingredient sourcing to the final retouch.
Why our plating style works for you:
- Authentic Appeal: Whether it is a messy, satisfying cheese pull or a perfectly plated Indian main course, we focus on the food's natural texture. We don't use fake plastic fillers unless it's a specific requirement for long-duration catalog shoots.
- Aggregator vs. Social: We understand the difference between aggregator platforms (Zomato, Swiggy) and social media. Aggregators need clean, bright images where the item is instantly recognizable; social media needs mood, shadows, and drama to grab attention.
- In-House Props: You do not need to hunt for background boards or ceramics. We have a growing collection of boards, linens, and bowls in our studio that we mix and match to find the perfect look for your brand's color palette.
Our Process
When you book a session with us, we start by understanding your brand identity. Are you a moody, dimly lit cafe or a bright, fast-paced cloud kitchen? We tweak our Godox lighting setups and color grading to match. We can work with you in the studio or bring our gear to your location. For catalog shoots, we use techniques to keep textures looking fresh and vibrant, even after a few hours under studio lights. We want to help you build a visual library that works as hard as your kitchen staff.
