Sacred Wedding Mandaps and Ceremony Decor
I believe your mandap should feel like a blessed, peaceful space. Whether it is set inside a temple or under the open sky, I design traditional ceremony backdrops filled with fresh florals and divine energy.
This nighttime wedding mandap was designed to feel like an enchanted forest. The structure is covered in natural greenery and flowers, with dozens of hanging floral strings and illuminated bells that cast a warm, magical glow over the ceremony.
Set against the serene white walls of a temple, this wedding mandap combines tradition with elegance. The four pillars are wrapped in dense floral garlands, while a soft pink fabric canopy and hanging brass bells create a divine atmosphere for the couple.
This mandap features a stunning ceiling of hanging rajnigandha strings and brass bells, creating a beautiful sensory experience for the couple and guests. The design is personalized with a welcome sign for the couple, Riya and Satyam, at the entrance.
For this temple wedding, every detail was considered to create a sacred journey for the guests. The path to the mandap was decorated with marigold petals on the steps, and a memorial table with lanterns was set up to honor and remember loved ones.
About Sacred Mandaps & Wedding Ceremonies
When I design a mandap, I focus on the balance between structure and fragrance. I use heavy strings of fresh Rajnigandha and Marigold for that authentic, traditional aroma, but I ensure the framework, whether it is a 4-post structure or a canopy, is sturdy enough to hold the weight of lush floral layers without obstructing the view for your family.
Designing a mandap is a responsibility. It is not just the focal point of the wedding, but the space where the couple starts their journey. I approach every setup with the belief that har ek kona (every corner) must be sundar (beautiful) and filled with positive energy.
For temple weddings, I work with the existing architecture. I often use lighter, hanging elements like brass bells and delicate floral strings that complement the stone or white marble walls, ensuring we do not overpower the sacred setting. If you are opting for an open-air setup, I recommend a 4-post structure wrapped in dense foliage and fresh roses, which creates a natural, enchanted forest feel.
I also pay close attention to the practical details that guests often overlook. Lighting is key, and I prefer warm LED washes that make the flowers glow, especially during evening pheras. If you want to include personal touches, I can set up a memorial or tribute corner nearby with lanterns and framed photos, a feature that many families appreciate in their sacred spaces.
Whether you are planning a grand Delhi NCR wedding or an intimate ceremony at home, let us discuss how to make your mandap look divine.
