About Dance Anywhere: Outdoor & Travel Sessions
Outdoor shoots require a different mindset than studio practice. You have to adapt your balance for uneven surfaces and be prepared for shifting light. It changes the routine, but the freedom of movement makes every bit of effort worth it.
When I started taking dance outside the studio, it was about finding authentic spaces. From rooftops in Bangalore to resort lawns, the environment dictates the energy of the routine. You lose the mirrors, which forces you to feel the movement instead of watching it. In my travel sessions, we focus on adaptability. You might be dancing on wooden decks, grass, or paved tiles, all of which require you to adjust your grip and footing compared to standard studio flooring. This is why I encourage students to prioritize flow over rigid technique. We keep our choreographies sharp enough for the camera but fluid enough to work anywhere. Whether you are planning a sangeet in a new city or just want a high-energy reel filmed at a scenic spot, the approach stays the same. We find the rhythm that fits your space, not the one that fits a standard room.
