Stop guessing your edits and learn how to actually use Lightroom. From color grading to masking, I'll show you how to get your shots looking right without overdoing it.

This is the Tone Curve, a fundamental tool for controlling contrast and color tones. I'll demystify how it works, showing you how to create a simple S-curve to add punch to your images or make more complex adjustments for a unique style.

This is a behind-the-scenes look at a classic beauty lighting setup using an Elinchrom beauty dish as the main light source. I believe in showing you the exact setup so you can replicate it and understand how each piece of equipment contributes to the final look.
To make things simple, I always provide a lighting diagram for my setups. This top-down view shows the precise placement of the camera, model, and lights for the beauty headshot. You can use this as a guide for your own studio practice.

This black and white portrait was shot indoors at 9 AM using only natural light from a window. I intentionally used the curtains to cast interesting shadows on the model, adding depth and mood to the shot.6
Another example of using hard, natural light to create graphic shapes and a sense of movement. By setting a fast shutter speed of 1/250th, I controlled the ambient light and made the shadows the focus of this dynamic pose.
To create this soft, warm portrait, I used only natural window light. I pushed the white balance towards yellow in my edit to enhance the golden hour feel and used a creative blur effect for a dreamy, ethereal quality.
This is a motion blur variation from the same natural light series. A slower shutter speed combined with the model's movement creates a painterly effect, showing how you can experiment to get different results from the same setup.

Let's turn raw FPV footage into cinematic gold. This is the first step in my editing workflow, where I take the shaky, unprocessed clip and prepare it for transformation.10
This is the power of color grading. See the transformation from the flat RAW file, to the initial LUT application, to the Final Grade that creates a specific mood and cinematic quality.
Sound design is what makes a video immersive. Here is a look at my audio timeline, where I layer ambient sounds, whooshes, and music to make the viewer feel like they are actually flying.

To create a silhouette, you place your subject against a strong light source and expose for the bright sky. Here, two giraffes are perfectly outlined against a vibrant African sunrise. I use an aperture of f/5.6 to f/11 to ensure crisp edges.12
A giraffe silhouette against a dramatic, cloudy sunset in the Masai Mara. I set my white balance above 9000K to enhance the warm, golden tones and underexposed by -3 EV to create the perfect silhouette contrast.
This is rim light photography. By placing the subject between you and the light source, you can create a beautiful glowing outline. This mother monkey and her baby are perfectly highlighted, separating them from the dark background.
Another example of creative rim lighting. The light behind the monkeys makes their fur glow, adding depth and drama to the silhouette. This is a blend of science and art, which I love to teach.
