I treat dance as a form of journaling, blending Kathak footwork with soulful expression. Whether you are learning for a special event or just want to heal, let’s explore your story through movement.

A moment of stillness and expression captured during a performance. The lighting here really highlights the mood, which is something I focus on in my teaching: using your whole body to tell the story.

In my private lessons, we work extensively on *abhinaya*, or facial expression. This short clip from my kitchen shows an attempt to convey a story just through gesture and expression, proving you can practice anywhere.

The soulful music of Sufi and Punjabi ghazals provides a beautiful canvas for Kathak. This choreography to a song by Lakhwinder Wadali explores the earthy, blissful side of the dance form.

A raw, imperfect expression to a perfect piece of Hindustani classical music. This black and white video captures a simple, honest moment of dance on my rooftop, connecting with the emotion of a Raag Bhairavi.

A tribute to the golden age of Bollywood with a Kathak twist. This choreography to 'Madhuban' shows how classical movements can be adapted to iconic film songs, a style we often explore in my workshops.

My last dance in India for a little while, filled with the energy of the monsoon. This piece to 'Garaj' from Bandish Bandits combines the power of nature with the grace of Kathak.

Sometimes the best dance moments are the most impromptu ones. This was recorded during a family gathering, showing that you can find a space to dance and express yourself anywhere, even if it's usually just in front of the bathroom mirror.

A little Kathak fusion choreography to a classic Bollywood song, 'Taarif Karoon Kya Uski'. This shows how we can blend traditional steps with the playful romance of old Hindi films.

Dancing in a garden, surrounded by nature. This Kathak fusion piece is all about finding joy in the moment and letting the beauty of the song and the surroundings guide your movement.

About Kathak & Expressive Movement

My classes aren't about achieving perfect lines or strict competition-style technique. We spend a lot of time on abhinaya (expression) to make sure the movement actually feels like you. If you are nervous about choreography, don't be. Whether you need a 3-minute performance for a wedding or just want to explore Sufi-Kathak fusion, we will build a routine that fits your body and your mood, not the other way around.
