Achieving that rich, #staingoals look is all about patience and proper aftercare. My henna begins as a vibrant orange stain upon removal, but it deepens into a dark maroon over the next 48 hours as it oxidizes naturally. To get the best result, keep the paste on for several hours, avoid water for the first 24 hours after removal, and keep your hands warm to help the dye release fully.
My process is straightforward because I prioritize quality over everything else. When you use my handmade cones, you are getting 100% organic henna powder sourced from Rajasthani Sojat, mixed with essential oils like Cajeput or Niaouli. I never use PPD, preservatives, or chemical dyes, which is why the color starts as a bright, natural orange. The deep maroon shade develops through natural oxidation, which takes time.
How to get the darkest stain:
- Leave it on: Aim for 6 to 8 hours for the best color release.
- Avoid water: Water halts the oxidation process. Keep the area dry for at least 24 hours after removing the dried paste.
- Stay warm: Henna loves heat. If you are in an air-conditioned room or in cooler weather, keep your hands warm to encourage the dye to deepen.
Storage tips for fresh henna:
Because my henna is completely natural, it is perishable. My cones must be stored in the freezer immediately upon arrival. They stay fresh for 3 to 6 months in the freezer. When you are ready for your bridal session or festival, simply take the cone out for 15 to 20 minutes to thaw, and it will be ready to flow perfectly.
