Shih Tzu & Small Breed Styling
Shih Tzus need regular upkeep, but taking them to a salon can be stressful. I bring professional grooming directly to your living room, keeping your pet calm and comfortable.
A Shih Tzu with a very overgrown and messy coat before its grooming appointment. This is a common starting point for many of my sessions.
Another angle showing the shaggy fur around the face before I start the grooming process.
A happy Shih Tzu, ready for its makeover. Even before we start, I make sure the pet feels safe and comfortable with me.
Gently holding a long-haired Shih Tzu before we begin the grooming. Building a calm connection is the first step.
After the session, this Shih Tzu is looking neat and tidy. The haircut is clean, and the face is beautifully shaped.
A freshly groomed Shih Tzu resting after its session. Notice the clean lines of the haircut and the trimmed fur around the eyes.
Sitting proudly with my grooming tools nearby. This shows the result of a full service including brushing, trimming, and styling.

This is the same happy dog from the featured section, just before we started its transformation.
A happy face before the haircut. I love seeing the personality of each dog I work with.
About Shih Tzu & Small Breed Styling
Grooming a Shih Tzu is not just about the haircut. These breeds have double coats that tangle easily, and removing those mats safely is the most important part of my session. I do not rush the process, and I work slowly to ensure your pet stays relaxed, especially if they are nervous or have sensitive skin.
For small breeds like Shih Tzus, Maltese, or Lhasa Apsos, grooming is a regular necessity, not a luxury. Their long coats act as a magnet for dust and knots. When I come to your home in Whitefield, Varthur, or Sarjapur, I skip the loud salon environment. My setup is simple and focused entirely on your pet's mood.
I start by assessing the condition of their coat. If there is matting, I use detangling solutions and patience to remove knots before reaching for the clippers. I prefer to use scissor-styling for the face and paws because it gives a cleaner, softer look that suits their features. A typical session includes:
- Deep cleansing bath with high-quality shampoo
- Gentle de-matting and brushing
- Sanitary trims and paw pad cleaning for better grip
- Ear, eye, and nail care
The final step is always a full blow-dry to make sure their coat is fluffy and dry, which prevents skin infections. Whether you need a summer cut or a maintenance trim, I adapt the style to your pet’s needs. If your pet has a skin condition or heavy flea infestation, I can also add specialized treatments during the bath. Please let me know if your pet is new to grooming so I can plan for extra time.
