Custom Vertical Green Walls for Bangalore Homes
Turn your bare walls into living art. I design modular green wall systems tailored for small balconies or office spaces in Bangalore, built for easy maintenance.
This video shows a walkthrough of a large-scale vertical green wall installation. You can see how these modular panels fit together to cover an extensive wall area, creating an impressive and continuous wall of plants.
This is a modular vertical garden I installed. I use a variety of hardy foliage plants to create living patterns of color and texture, transforming a plain wall into a vibrant focal point.
Here, a vertical garden panel adds a section of lush greenery to a long boundary wall. I often use these living wall systems to break up monotonous surfaces in outdoor passages or compounds.
A detailed view of a vertical garden pattern. I arranged rows of green, purple, and red foliage plants, including Tradescantia, to create a textured, multi-tonal effect on this living wall.
This front-on view shows the density of a completed vertical garden. Each plant is in its own pot within the modular frame, which allows for healthy growth and easy maintenance.
The same vertical garden viewed at night. The textures and deep colors of the plants stand out even in low light, ensuring the space looks good day and night.
This is another night-time shot of a vertical garden installation. The ambient lighting highlights the different shapes and shades of the foliage, creating a dramatic and sophisticated look.
About Vertical Green Walls
I use a powder-coated MS square tube grid to secure the modular planter cups. This keeps the weight balanced and allows me to plumb a hidden 16mm drip irrigation line to every pot, ensuring your vertical garden stays healthy without daily manual watering.
My Approach to Vertical Gardening
Space constraints in Bangalore shouldn't stop you from having a garden. I specialize in vertical green walls that utilize wall height rather than floor space, perfect for narrow balconies or office interiors.
The Setup
Each installation follows a precise process:
- Structural Grid: I fabricate a custom 1-inch Mild Steel (MS) square tube frame with an anti-rust coating. This is bolted directly to your wall to support the weight of the plants and damp soil.
- Modular System: I use UV-stabilized, high-density polypropylene planter cups. These hook onto the frame, which allows me to swap individual plants if one isn't thriving or if you want to change the visual pattern.
- Irrigation: Every vertical garden I build includes a hidden lateral drip network. This connects to your nearest water point, delivering consistent moisture to all 10 to 12 plants per square foot. You will not need to water these manually.
Plant Selection and Care
I choose pollution-tolerant, hardy varieties that thrive in our city's conditions. Common choices include Spider Plants, Rhoeo, Syngonium, and Ferns. I arrange these in geometric patterns—waves or color-blocked segments—to create a living tapestry.
To keep the structure light, I use a custom soilless medium consisting of cocopeat, perlite, and vermicompost. This reduces the load on your wall while providing excellent nutrition to the roots. My setups are designed to be low-maintenance, requiring only periodic trimming and professional servicing every few months.
