About Film & Music Video Choreography
When I choreograph for a film, it is not just about the dance. It is about camera blocking, finding those signature hook steps that go viral, and making sure the actors feel comfortable and natural on screen. Whether we are planning wide shots for a crowd or tight close-ups for an expression, I design the movement to match the director's story and vision.
My approach to film choreography is built on collaboration. Whether it is a mass-market Kannada blockbuster or a music video, the goal is always to make the movement serve the narrative. I have been lucky to work with stars like Dr. Shivarajkumar and Dhananjaya, and projects like 'Kotee' taught me how to balance technical camera requirements with high-energy entertainment.
My Process
- Pre-production & Design: We start with storyboarding the choreography to fit the director's visual style. I create signature hook steps specifically designed for social media virality.
- Rehearsal Phase: I provide up to 12 hours of studio training at my Vijayanagar studio to get the cast comfortable with the rhythm, expressions, and body language.
- On-Set Direction: I am there for 2 days of execution, managing formations, directing background dancers, and making real-time adjustments based on monitor checks.
A good song sequence needs to look good from every angle. I focus on creating steps that are technically sound but simple enough to become a hook step that fans can replicate. If you have a music video or film project coming up, let's talk and create something awesome together.
