Peeking through my Kamishibai stage! This little wooden box is one of my favorite storytelling tools. It helps frame the narrative and creates a sense of wonder and anticipation.
Holding up a paper prop of a wave during a story about the sea. Simple, handcrafted items like this are incredibly effective at helping children visualize the world I'm describing.

A close-up of my setup for a story about Mulan. I carefully select books, art, and decorations to match the theme, creating an immersive environment from the moment families walk in.
My storytelling table is always full of magic. Here you can see character puppets and artwork, all illuminated by fairy lights to create a whimsical and inviting atmosphere for the kids.
About this collection
I don't just read from a book. I use the Japanese Kamishibai theatre, which is a wooden storytelling box, alongside stick puppets and hand-painted props to give every story a physical dimension. It changes the dynamic entirely because children are not just listening, they are watching the narrative unfold in front of them, which keeps even the most restless toddlers glued to the floor.
When you bring a Kamishibai frame into a room, the whole atmosphere shifts. It stops being a reading session and starts being a theatrical performance. My storytelling approach focuses on making abstract stories tangible for 3 to 9 year olds. Whether I am narrating a Hungarian folktale or a local Panchatantra story, the props are the secret sauce.
By using handcrafted puppets and rhythmic movement, I ensure that children are active participants rather than passive listeners. The Kamishibai stage creates a dedicated visual focal point, helping toddlers stay engaged while helping older kids visualize the scene.
We often tie these props into our art and craft activities. If we tell a story about space, we aren't just using puppets, we are often building rocket ships or painting galaxies afterwards. It creates a complete sensory loop, seeing the story, hearing it, and then creating a physical token of it to take home. If you are worried about your child sitting still, do not be. These props are designed to grab attention. They make the stories loud, colorful, and impossible to ignore. Whether we are in a studio in Indiranagar or a community space elsewhere in Bengaluru, these kits come with us.
Moxie & Hopper
I am the one behind the puppets, usually making a fool of myself to get a laugh out of your little ones. We do not do formal here; we do stories, songs, and organized chaos that leaves everyone smiling.
