About Pastel & Jewel Tones
The color palette you choose changes the entire energy of your newborn gallery. We often suggest soft pastels like blush, mint, or powder blue to create a light, ethereal, and calm aesthetic that highlights the baby's delicate features. Alternatively, our jewel tone setups featuring emerald greens, deep blues, or rich purples add a dramatic, artistic, and moody quality to the final portraits. We handle all the styling, using matching swaddles, headbands, and textural layers to ensure the colors look harmonious with your baby's skin tone.
Choosing between pastel and jewel tones is one of the first design decisions we make for your session. Pastels are a classic choice for newborn photography. They work exceptionally well with our white noise machines and climate-controlled studio environment, creating a gentle, sleep-focused visual narrative. These colors tend to reflect light beautifully, making your baby the soft focus of every frame.
On the other hand, jewel tones provide a rich, sophisticated contrast. These deep colors make skin tones pop and allow for creative use of props like wicker baskets, gold accents, and vintage textures. We find that parents often choose jewel tones for winter sessions or when they want portraits that feel like fine art pieces rather than traditional baby photos.
Regardless of your color preference, the technical process remains the same. Our team at Epic Infocus manages the entire setup in our Mahim, Dahisar, or Navi Mumbai studios. We provide all the wardrobe, from knitted rompers to bonnets, so you do not need to bring extra clothing. We are meticulous about color theory—ensuring the props, blankets, and backdrops complement each other rather than competing for attention. If you are having trouble deciding, we are happy to suggest a palette based on your nursery colors or your personal style. We always recommend discussing your preferred color scheme during the booking phase so we can have your chosen setup pre-styled and sanitized before you arrive.
